Gulzar To Get Jnanpith Award: Well-known lyricist and Urdu poet Gulzar will be honored with the Jnanpith Award. Jnanpith Selection Committee has announced this on Saturday. While issuing an official announcement, the Jnanpith Selection Committee wrote – It has been decided to give this award (for 2023) to famous writers of two languages, Sanskrit litterateur Jagadguru Rambhadracharya and well-known Urdu litterateur Shri Gulzar.
In the press release of the official selection committee announcing the award to Gulzar, it has been said that, along with his long film Journey, Gulzar is setting new milestones in the field of literature. In poetry he discovered a new genre ‘Triveni’ which is a non-rhyme poem of three lines. Gulzar has always created something new through his poetry. For some time now he has also been paying serious attention to children’s poetry.
